On 4 November 1975 Government of India constituted a Commission called the staff selection commission. SSC renamed in 1977 from Subordinate Staff Selection to SSC and all people known as SSC from that day. After many amendments government has given power to provide the man power to all Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and for that it has right to conduct examination, publish recruitment notification and conduct interview as per its requirement so SSC has full authority in the field of recruitment. It has attached offices with  the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which is headed by chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations. Eligibility Criteria 

SSC conduct various label of examination like Graduate level examination, SSC GD Constable Examination and various others. • For Inspector in Divisional Accountant Posts :- Graduation
• For Auditor | Accountant | Junior Accountant Posts :- Graduation
• For Compiler Posts :- Graduation Degree with Economics or statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or elective subject.
• For Statistical investigator Posts :- Graduation Degree from statistics as One of the Main Subject OR Graduation with Mathematics OR Graduation With Statistics .

A candidate must be either:

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
